We collect the minimum we need to give you an accurate verdict (your birth date, optional name and birth time). Your diary entries stay on your phone. We don't sell or share your data with advertisers, and we don't harvest your contacts, location, or social accounts.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Lucent ("we," "us," "the app") collects from you, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the Lucent mobile app and this website.
Lucent is operated as an independent app. For privacy-related contact, write to privacy@lucent.app.
We do not use your data for behavioural advertising. We do not profile you for sale to third parties.
Personal profile data (your name, birth date, partner details) is stored encrypted on your device using your phone's secure storage. Diary entries are stored in a local database on your device.
Subscription state is handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their respective privacy policies.
Website waitlist emails are stored with our email service provider in the European Union or United Kingdom, with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
We do not work with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers that track users across apps.
You have the right to:
If you live in the UK, EU, or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of your information — though we don't sell information in any case.
Lucent is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your profile and diary data remain on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. If you delete the app, the data is removed with it. If you delete your data through Settings, it is removed immediately.
Website waitlist emails are retained until you ask us to remove them or until the launch campaign ends, whichever comes first.
We use industry-standard encryption (Apple Keychain and Android Keystore) for sensitive profile data on your device. Communication between the app and our subscription provider is over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow the principle of collecting the minimum data needed to do the job.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you inside the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Lucent after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

A brief summary of the rules of the road.
You may use Lucent for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer the app.
Lucent provides general daily readings based on unproven systems (astrology, numerology, biorhythms). The app is for entertainment and self-reflection only. It is not financial, medical, legal, or professional advice of any kind. You are solely responsible for your decisions.
Subscriptions auto-renew through Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. You can cancel any time from your device's store settings — your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
The Founder's Edition lifetime tier is capped at the first 5,000 purchases. After that, only subscription tiers will remain available. Lifetime access means access to the current and future features of Lucent for the life of the app.
Refunds for subscriptions and lifetime purchases are handled by Apple or Google through their respective stores. We follow the platform refund policy.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Lucent is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages from your use of the app.
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which Lucent's operator is established. Disputes will be brought in courts of competent jurisdiction there.
If anything here is unclear, write to hello@lucent.app and we'll try to explain it like a human.
